Three FC Copa Academy Crowned Champs At The EDP Fall Cup!

Updated: Nov 16, 2023

It was another massive weekend for FC Copa Academy as our motivated teams hit the field for the EDP Fall Cup and left with three tournament victories. The Girls 2013 (G13) Rutgers, Girls 2011 (G11) ECRL, and Boys 2012 (B12) Red Rutgers teams all showed how hard they have been working and where they've come as teams, making us all proud!

Our G11 ECRL team started off the weekend strong, going undefeated and keeping every opponent to clean sheets.

Coach Yazo said this after the successful weekend:
“It was a really good weekend for this group, and the goal from the start was to win it all! Tons of positives to build on from here. Taking all these good moments as building blocks to where we want to go next.”

Followed up by our B12 team proved just how bad they wanted this, netting an impressive 18 goals while allowing just 4 in return.

Coach Faloye had this to say after the successful weekend:
“I thought it was a great team effort from start to finish. The boys really set out to play for each other and put on a show with their performances, so I’m really proud of what they were able to accomplish.”

And lastly, our G13 team from Rutgers put on a defensive clinic, not conceding a single goal! Then followed by scoring 10 goals of their own which pushed them across the edge to grab first!

Coach Lescano had this to say about his team:
"I'm very impressed with the Girls performance this weekend. From the first kick to the final whistle, their consistent level of play set us apart from our opponents. For our first season together, we have already come so far and this weekend was great proof of that!

Congratulations to our G13 Rutgers, G11 ECRL, and B12 Red Rutgers teams for securing victories in their respective brackets at the EDP FALL Cup. The work that you all have put in to get here has paid off! We extend our appreciation to the coaches, parents, and all contributors who played a pivotal role in these achievements. Looking forward to continued success on the horizon!
