Former FC Copa Academy Standout Forward Returns In A Coaching Role

METUCHEN, NJ - FC Copa Academy today announced the hiring of Phoenetia Browne as a Staff Coach. Browne is an FC Copa alumna, who joins the club after spending the past three years playing at the professional level abroad in Iceland, Finland, France, and Romania. Browne led her native St. Kitts and Nevis to the Final 8 of the 2020 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualification Championship for the first time in their history. Browne racked up an astounding 19 goals in 20 appearances for the Women’s National Team of Saint Kitts and Nevis. Browne joins FC Copa with over three years of coaching experience having worked with a number of teams abroad to launch her coaching career while playing professionally overseas.

During her time at FC Copa Academy, Browne was a member of a very successful FC Copa Furia squad for three years. After graduating from Rutgers Preparatory School, Browne went on to play collegiately at Columbia University and The University of Texas at Austin. Phoenetia holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering. Phoenetia also played with FC Copa’s U20/23 team as well as suiting up for the UWS side NJ COPA FC. Browne also represented Saint Kitts and Nevis in the U20 ranks, before serving as captain of the full international team.


Since its inception in 2004, FC Copa Academy has appeared in 26 state, 19 regional and 7 national finals & championships while having one of the highest college placement rates in the country, both soccer and academic, having placed over 360 students into over 170 collegiate programs and developed over 24 professional and national/international team players.
