Metuchen, NJ - This Saturday will be a historic and exciting day in the FC Copa Academy tradition when FC Copa Rutgers Academy teams will host eight of FC Copa Academy Brooklyn’s Founding Member teams in scrimmages throughout the day. “Following a successful Copa Friendlies series between FC Copa Academy Rutgers and FC Copa Academy Millstone teams a few weeks ago, we are thrilled to bring two more FC Copa Academy locations together to match up under our collective organizational umbrella, coaching philosophy and culture,” said FC Copa Founder and Executive Director of Coaching Roberto Aguas.
Game schedules have been purposely stacked one after another to allow FC Copa Academy directors at both locations to evaluate every game. FC Copa Technical Director Billy Englishby noted, “bringing our academy locations together was part of our vision in the launch of FC Copa Academy Brooklyn and FC Copa Academy Millstone since day one. In addition to the value these match ups bring to our players, they are great opportunities for our coaching staffs to collaborate and continue to evaluate our collective approach to our curriculum and playing style under The Copa Way.”
The games offer FC Copa Academy Brooklyn Teams an initial competitive opportunity following the successful return to training guidelines executed at all FC Copa Academy locations. “Our players have been coming together and training diligently at Aviator Sports and Event Center’s facilities in Brooklyn, and we are looking forward to showing the entire Academy the talent we have been fostering in NYC,” said FC Copa Academy Brooklyn Technical Director Lennard Visman. “I know for a fact some of our players have been researching their counterparts in New Jersey, and we are all appreciative of the opportunity to play against, and get to know, our fellow Academy teammates.”
